Duties

Serves as an authority on resolution of highly complex citizenship cases and unique adjudication problems referred by subordinate supervisors.

Makes recommendations to the Agency/Center Director and Assistant Director regarding the resolution of management problems and implements approved management and procedural changes.

Prepares a variety of recurring and special reports as needed by the Agency/Center Director and by Headquarters in managing the Directorate of Passport Services.

Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate staff, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinate staff based on priorities.

Reviews adjudicative decisions by subordinates in disputed cases, using tact and discretion in developing solutions that balance the needs of passport applicants with those of the Department.
