The Department of Facilities has an immediate need for a COURT SECURITY COORDINATOR. This position is based inFranklin County. The Court Security Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and coordinating court securityprograms

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Train local law enforcement personnel on court security issues.
  • Provide security during high profile cases.
  • Perform routine security duties within courthouse.
  • Conduct presentations and educational training in group settings.
  • Conduct security assessments for court facilities and potential court facilities statewide.
  • Act as liaison between court of justice officials and local law enforcement.
  • Provide special security details for court of justice and other judicial functions such as colleges andtraining.
  • Interpret laws, policies and procedures for program(s) to program implementation staff and program recipientson a statewide basis.
  • Request and collect program data, edit, analyze data, and write comprehensive program status reports forexecutive and managerial supervisors.
  • Performs in depth analysis of program support needs and recommends policy and procedural modifications.
  • Respond to programmatic inquiries from the general public, governmental officials, or other jurisdictions.
  • Communicate procedural or program changes to program staff, contractors, recipients, and other interestedparties.
  • Attend professional meetings, civic meetings, or other meetings to gather or distribute program or technicalinformation
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Associates Degree Or 60 Hour Equivalent from An Accredited University or Technical School

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:20 years of related experience must include fulltime experience with KSP as a sworn law enforcement officer

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Two Years Full Time Military Service

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) CertificationRequired. SLEO Must Be Obtained Within 6 Months and Maintained Throughout Employment. CPR, First Aid and AEDCertifications Required Within 6 Months and Must Be Maintained Throughout Employment.

Working Conditions

Travel is extensive and there are overnights, days, weekends and holidays.Due to the nature of the job duties and responsibilities, this position is not authorized for virtual work.
