Director of Youth Ministries and Missions, State Street UMCMay 12, 2026Job Summary State Street United Methodist Church is seeking a Director of Youth Ministries and Missions to lead and grow a vibrant ministry for middle school through college‑age students while coordinating meaningful mission opportunities for the congregation. This role focuses on building relationships, fostering Christian discipleship, and helping youth and the broader church community live out their faith through service and connection.Key ResponsibilitiesYouth Ministry – Serve as the primary leader for middle and high school youthPlan and implement engaging, age‑appropriate programs and activitiesCollaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan and lead Confirmation classesCommunicate youth events and updates to the congregationAssist with Vacation Bible SchoolCollege Ministry – Develop fellowship, service, and study opportunities for college studentsBuild relationships with Western Kentucky University and the Wesley Foundation MissionsMissions – Coordinate and support established mission efforts, including, but not limited to, food pantry, Thanksgiving Meal, Room in the Inn, Angel TreeGeneral Responsibilities – Participate in the worship life of the church; Maintain regular office hours and clear communication with staff; Attend staff meetings and meet regularly with the Senior Pastor; Participate in district and conference training opportunities; Maintain a visible presence on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings; Perform additional duties as assignedQualificationsA committed and growing faith in Jesus ChristExperience in youth ministry, Christian education, or a related fieldStrong relational skills and the ability to connect with youth and familiesEffective communication, organization, and time management skillsAbility to work collaboratively with staff and volunteersWillingness to complete a background checkPreferred: Bachelor's degree in Church Education, Counseling, or related fieldFamiliarity with the United Methodist traditionCommitment to ongoing professional developmentContact: Rev.
