The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $120,000.00, depending on factors such as labor market conditions, education, and experience. The Assets Protection team plays an essential role in maintaining a safe environment for guests, team members, and our brand, especially during crises. This position is critical in protecting our sales by preventing theft and fraud, ensuring product availability for our guests.

Role Overview

As an Assistant Loss Prevention Manager, you will have opportunities to:

  • Promote a culture of safety, including effective crisis management and crowd control.
  • Establish and execute strategic Asset Protection goals, achieving results with your team.
  • Respond to incidents of external theft and fraud according to Target policies.
  • Oversee internal investigation resolutions.
  • Manage recruitment and talent development for both hourly team members and leaders.
Daily Responsibilities
  • Enhance sales and profitability by ensuring product availability for guests.
  • Foster a safety culture by adhering to security protocols.
  • Train team members on emergency preparedness procedures.
  • Analyze risk factors related to shortages and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a resource for Asset Protection initiatives across the company.
  • Conduct training on investigative techniques and de-escalation skills.
  • Oversee compliance with essential training requirements.
  • Manage internal investigation processes and conduct interviews.
  • Identify and analyze theft trends to formulate preventative measures.
  • Prioritize operational shortages and educate store teams accordingly.
  • Lead investigations of external theft incidents.
  • Work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Collaborate with the Store Director to analyze market trends and strategies.
  • Prepare resources based on theft trends and security needs.
  • Implement organizational changes and operational improvements.
  • Set clear expectations and standards for accountability.
  • Anticipate and plan staffing needs for short- and long-term objectives.
  • Support the onboarding and development of team leaders.
  • Inspire and mentor team members to enhance their skills.
  • Effectively communicate Asset Protection priorities to all relevant teams.
  • Model and promote a safety culture by participating in safety programs.
  • Act as the first responder during in-store incidents.
  • Deliver exceptional service that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team.
  • Adhere to all safety training protocols.
  • Fulfill other duties as required based on business demands.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Compliance with local licensure or legal requirements for this position.
