Job Description
The Janitor (Facilities Maintenance Specialist) is responsible for general duties associated with daily maintenance and operation of one or more facilities. These duties include cleaning, dusting, polishing, washing, drying, stocking, sweeping, and mopping any assigned area or facility that requires this type of maintenance. Daily inspection of all common areas and restocking of supplies in the break rooms and restrooms is required. Preparation of hot beverages for employees or meetings may be required. The care of interior and exterior plants may also be required. Inventory of all cleaning supplies and notice to supervisors of low levels is the responsibility of the Facilities Maintenance Specialist. Placement of any signs that warn of wet areas or other hazards shall be placed and removed by this employee. Windows shall be cleaned inside and outside at the direction of a supervisor or as needed. This employee will ensure trash and recycling receptacles are properly placed for daily pick-up.
Requires a minimum of an eighth grade education, valid driver's license, and six months related experience. Must be able to climb steps, kneel, crawl and carry/move up to 35 lbs.

Description of Duties
Clean break rooms, conference rooms, and common areas as needed.
Inventory supplies to ensure availability and notify supervisor of insufficient levels.
Maintain diplomatic and courteous attitude when dealing with fellow employees or citizens.
Ensure trash and recycled paperwork is gathered and prepared for pick-up.
Water and fertilize plants and trim dead leaves or branches to promote good health and an attractive appearance.
Prepare hot beverages at the beginning of the day and for meetings.
Clean any dishes in the kitchens and place in designated storage areas.
Monitor exterior of facilities and gather and dispose of any litter, dead branches, or leaves.
Maintain confidentiality of any information that may be overheard or viewed during course of work.
Perform simple maintenance on equipment and repair or report problems to a supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires a minimum of an eighth grade education.
Six months related experience required.
Possess a valid motor vehicle operator license.
Able to climb steps, kneel, crawl, and carry up to 35 pounds for extended periods of time.
