The Project Engineer in Machine Engineering plays a key role in driving initiatives aligned with the departments strategic goals. These initiatives focus on opening new business opportunities, enhancing existing products, and reducing current and related costs. The role also provides cross-functional support to Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Logistics, and Technical Service teams, with a scope that includes products for both domestic and LATAM markets.
Design & Development Projects
Lead and participate in the design and redesign of machinery, as well as cost-reduction and improvement projects. Coordinate trial runs for new developments and redesigns, assemble and validate prototypes through testing protocols, estimate financial impact, conduct benchmarking, and propose design and outsourcing alternatives. Responsible for generating parts, assemblies, and 3D models.
Product Specifications & Documentation
Develop and maintain product specifications, material requirements, and manufacturing drawings in accordance with design updates or redesigns.
Technical Support & Reporting
Provide technical documentation for product datasheets, respond to warranty claims and field test reports, manage engineering change requests and deviation approvals, prepare project status and activity reports, participate in supplier validation processes, and coordinate activity schedules with other departments.
Engineering Advisory
Serve as a technical advisor for issues involving changes or deviations from the original design of welding machines and accessories.
Sales Training
Deliver training sessions to the sales force on new welding machines and accessories.
Additional Duties
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Product Leader.
