Job Description

Position Title: IT System Administrator

Location: Franklin, KY

Reports to: IT Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000

General Position Summary

The IT System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and securing IT infrastructure across the organization. This position requires a minimum two-year degree in computer hardware, software, or information technology, along with at least 3 years of experience in roles such as Network Administrator, Senior Help Desk Administrator, or similar. The System Administrator reports to the IT Manager.

Essential Functions

• Manage network and server security protocols
• Maintain and configure firewalls
• Administer AS/400 user accounts
• Install and maintain network devices
• Provide Office 365 email support
• Track and manage IT asset inventory
• Maintain operating systems
• Deploy and manage anti-spam and anti-virus solutions
• Support and maintain telephone systems
• Install and maintain PCs and peripherals
• Perform hardware upgrades on PCs

Additional Functions

• Assist with AS/400 daily operations and backups
• Troubleshoot and restore from AS/400 backups
• Investigate and resolve IT-related issues
• Provide video camera system support
• Deliver desktop support (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Install and upgrade Windows OS software

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Capability to multitask effectively across various responsibilities
• Excellent customer service orientation
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Basic understanding of computer cabling (parallel, serial, Ethernet, voice, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange
• Knowledge of Ethernet networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, switching)
• Experience troubleshooting hardware/software with vendor support
• Familiarity with basic project management concepts and scheduling

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Associate's degree (A.S.) in Computer Hardware, Software, or Information Technology (or related field)

Experience

• At least 3 years in an IT systems or network administrator role
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with internet routing technologies

Preferred Certifications

• A+ (PC support)
• Network+ (network support)
• Microsoft certifications (Active Directory, servers, networking)
• Information Security certification
• Other certified networking or systems training
