Job Title: Head of English

Location: Americas and the Caribbean, Caribbean, Cayman Islands

Job Type: Permanent, expected to work full-time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £4500 - £5500 per month

Job Duties:

• Develop and implement an engaging and comprehensive English curriculum
• Lead and manage a team of English teachers
• Monitor and assess student progress in English language skills
• Collaborate with other department heads to ensure cross-curricular integration
• Organise and oversee English language events and competitions
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding English-related matters

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English or related field
• Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE)
• Proven experience in teaching English at a senior level

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English or related field

Experience:

Several years of experience teaching English, with experience at a senior level

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of English language and literature
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire both students and staff
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

The role may require some evening and weekend work to attend events and meetings. The Head of English will be based in an educational setting and will work closely with students, teachers, and parents.
